This weekend, I decided to fold something easy and quick. Browsing through my feeds for the past 2 weeks, I found these pretty modulars which are just my style – less than 12 sheets of paper and easy to fold 😉

Thank you Christine Edison for sharing these modular model instructional videos with us. There are 2 videos which she has recorded and posted on in her blog – one is of the Stellated Nonagon and the other is of a Stellated Decagon. Both are really easy to fold even for beginners and with the right combination of colored sheets, can be made to look really pretty.

Paper to use:
You can use any paper of your choice – Kami, kraft, wrapping paper, tant, etc. 12 units / sheets of paper are required, and the folding sequence does not incorporate any tricky or complex folds. Each model has 2 rabbit folds incorporated which, even if you are a beginner to origami, if you follow the steps in the instructional video, you will find easy to follow.

How to fold the Stellated Nonagon:
This is a very short video recorded and uploaded by Christine Edison and shows the folding sequence clearly. You would need 12 sheets of paper in all measuring a minimum of 3 inches in size – square shaped. For my rendition, I have used 15 cm (5 7/8 inches) in size which results in a model having a diameter of around 7 – 8 inches in total – taking into account the protrusions.

Have a great week ahead!
