This is a diagram I came across in the Origami Tanteidan Convention book 12. This is my favorite Tanteidan convention book so far as it contains all of the models I like and would love to fold. This book contains a mix of simple to complex diagrams and also diagrams to the popular “Brian Chan Rose” and the “Miura-ken Beauty Rose” of Robert Lang. So now you can guess why this has easily become one of my favorite books.

This is the second design of Roman Diaz I am attempting and its a lot more complicated that the Puma Head design of his.

What paper to use:

Ideally one should attempt folding this model with duo paper or double foil paper; each side having a different contrasting shade so as to bring about the color change for the sparrow. You can start folding with a 9 inch square or larger sized square sheet of paper; but you would need to remember that whatever the size of the paper you select to start folding this model, the final model turns out to be in a ratio of 0.24 to 1.

I have used a sheet measuring 9 inches in size; a square sheet of common origami paper. Maybe I will try double tissue foil paper on my next fold of this model.
